♫ can you hear the music ♪

good morning.  sorry for the lack of posts, we are getting ready to be back to school and with 4 kids, it's never dull during this time of preparation.

orientations....check
school clothes shopping.....check (not even peeking at my bank account)

basketball open gyms before tryouts.....check

hair cuts.....check

i know you know the routine, i won't keep going...giggle

on a scrappy note, today my sweet friend Alex and I are up on the October Afternoon blog with a new sketch this week and our interpretations of it.  When creating this week's sketch, I wanted to create a sketch that would allow me the freedom to play with some of these Ipod pics of my daughter and her "favorites" right now.  I also wanted a sketch that would emphasize large focal elements and love how Alex interpreted the sketch for her little guy!

can you hear the music sketch

music, music, music layout

(i'm sorry it's not the best pics, but it was getting dark outside when i took these)

I cut the large music notes and title with my silhouette and backed it with fun new papers from the OA Daily Flash GIrl Talk line.  I only have one daughter and this paper is one I would buy in multiples, it is THAT awesome

the tin pins are so much fun in this line, i love layering them with all the various die-cuts and tidbits

i hope you'll pop in and say hello and see the amazing layout by Alex.

thank you so much for your visits and notes♥

hugs!

♥ cupcards to go summer card kit part 2 ♥

hello.  are you having record-setting heat or down-pouring rain right now where you live?  we are burning hot here and it makes it a challenge to keep kids cool and relaxed.  my kids are allergic to the chemicals in our local swimming pool, they have to swim in fresh water or smaller hotel pools, the larger swim centers have to use more of the chemicals and it does not sit well with any of my boys.  so, to cool them down, we take them to various lakes and smaller pools, which is a little ways away.  i am very excited for all the fun picture-taking opportunities and memories this week, it's a week i won't soon forget.

sorry for rambling, but this has been a H*O*T week and am wondering what it's like where YOU are.

i am back to share some more cards from the gorgeous CupCards to Go Isabella Summer card kit.
i love everything about this kit, from the papers, to the embellies, to the washi, to the sentiments, it's all perfect!

i shared the first set of the cards created with the kit HERE

here's Isabella
(Part Two)

i love this fabric paper that is in the kit and used it on quite a few cards, fun to play with!

the challenge this month was to create a masculine birthday card using the supplies in our kit also.   using my guitar die and the embellies/papers from the kit, this card was fun to create.

my "hello" card was inspired by this month's sketch

instead of the strip of paper in front of the block of cardstock, i chose to cut my paper and create faux washi tape with it.  i kept the greeting the focal of the card and embellished it with the fun and happy papers.

i cut one of the happy birthday sentiments down to just read "hello" for this particular card.

and with my leftovers from the kit, i created hand-made embellies.  i like to create hand-made embellies before throwing out the very last tidbits of a kit that were too small so when i need a card, it is easy to adhere them to some cardstock and go.  i actually have a small box of just handmade embellies for that very purpose and use it all the time.

and here are three cards i created with them and the tag will be tied to a gift bag very soon

and a shaker card using some fun sequins i had in my stash

i hope you'll check out Isabella
for yourself, you will NOT be disappointed, it is packed FULL of fun supplies in order to create a LOT of cards!

thank you so much for visiting me and for your incredibly sweet notes!

happy creating♥
