♥ Project Life This Life Noted ♥

hello!  i am sorry for my disappearance, CHA is such a busy, turn-around time of year and it makes it hard to keep the blog caught up as well.  but ALAS!  i am finished with my projects, Jillibean Soup and October Afternoon sent off and ready for the blog posts and  My Mind's Eye shipped and at the show, yay!  not all manufacturers will be showing at the summer show due to the cost of doing so, but their products are absolutely BEYOND i assure you, you will love creating with them.

and, since i have finished up with CHA, i was able to spend some time, up close and personal, with this month's Scraptastic Scrapbooking Project Life Kit

This Life Noted

isn't it fantastic?  this month's kit is no longer available BUT you can see the sneak peeks of the DELICIOUS august Project Life kit here

i don't do a "traditional" project life series, because i am constantly creating and constantly needing more space for my kids pics, the day's/event's story generally has FOUR kids involved and so the spread fills up quickly if i am going to be fair to the real story.  so my spreads may be a a weekly snapshot but more times than not you will see a day or two or trip or event that was extremely important to us and i want to get them all in on the spread.

whew, gabby this morning aren't i?  guess it's because i haven't been here in a wee bit, sorry.

♥ you are here Funky Town ♥

good morning.  i am sharing a layout created with literal SCRAPS from my June Funky Town Scraptastic Scrapbooking Kits.

you are here layout

i literally created my background patterned paper with my scraps, some 1/2" by 1", just scraps, and am very happy that i had enough to create a background, whew!

my circles were create using Jillibean Soup Placemats.  while i have a Cameo could easily cut it myself, it's wonderful to have these placemats, they are gorgeous and the perfect weight

love my October Afternoon Daily Flash date stamps, use it ALL the time

thank you so much for your visits and sweet notes, they make my day EVERY day.
hugs!

♥ funky town....yes it is! ♥

good morning!  i'm popping in to share a couple of layouts created with this month's Scraptastic Scrapbooking Kits

 Cool Hipster Layout

i love all the fun tidbits and possible cut-out embellies in this month's Scraptastic Scrapbooking Kits June kit Funky Town

this was my eldest son being.....
well,
fun, nifty, crazy and awesome....giggle

when your kids are off to college, you do not getting many of these moments anymore.  moments we try never to take for granted but that pass us all by far too quickly.  i cherish these memories of this trip, it was fun, cool, quirky, nifty, and yes even a whole lot of retro at the antique faire.

this is definitely a sunday i won't soon forget!  he is hilarious, fun, cool, hip and just makes this mommy laugh like no other

and this isn't the only layout i am going to share this month.  i create a lot of layouts a month, document our story, but don't share often, not because of any reason other than i put them in albums and the next page of the story has been added to the book.  i want my kids to read the book when i am finished, seems more fun that way, someday, it's what they'll haveso, while i haven't shared with them, i'll share another layout here :)  smile

 Historic Auburn Layout

i love the alphas that came in this month's kit, so fun to play with

 trending now....
triangles

these wood veneers and saying make me giddy, perfect for my layouts this month

thanks for letting me share with you, make sure to check out the DT Gallery it's packed with inspiration for layouts, cards and YES Project Lift kit ideas too!

hugs & so much love!

• let's get sketchy with OA •

if you are looking for the 9 to 5 hop, please scroll down to previous post.

good morning everyone.  today is Sketchy Thursdays on the OA Blog.  I created a sketch I hope will inspire layouts and cards alike.

sketch by danni

although i created a lo sketch, i decided to create cards and demonstrate how easily you can scale down a lo sketch to fit a card scale.  successfully interpreting a layout sketch into a card usually lies in the scaling of the sketch. scaling it down to a card scale generally means omitting or layering elements.  for this sketch, the focal is the argyle background element, so i decided to make that the focal of all my cards and play with the various layering interpretations of it.

hello card
(click pics to enlarge)

i rotated my argyle element on this card and layered the elements in the center instead of above the argyle.  i stitched through the centers of the argyle elements as you generally find with argyle patterns.

on my second card, i decided to rotate the argyle elements vertically so as to create a taller card

best friends card

i layered the argyle pattern once again instead of above it to scale for the card size

(see the chipboard corners?  do you ever have some of those leftover or don't like to use them on lo?  these are really fun on the argyle pattern)

i stitched through the centers once again

and to show you how easily you could use circle elements, like the ones that come in the 9 to 5 line,
i created another secretary appreciation card for hubby to give to another of his secretaries.

what would i do without you?

exchanging the argyle for circles, i stitched through the centers and then layered the elements in the corner

(love the 9 to 5) paper label too ;)

and joining me in this challenge today is Becky.  to see her amazing layout and cuuuuute puppy, hop over to the OA BLOG to see it.

if you were inspired to give the sketch, argyle element or circle element backgrounds a shot, please link us up, we'd love to be inspired.

thank you for visiting me today.

hugs & love♥
