♥ oa color challenge ♥

i'm sorry for the late post today, i received the dreaded school phone calls saying that my youngest "my crash" had tripped going down the stairs on the jungle gym playground and hit his head on the metal arm rail.  his eyes weren't dilating properly, he had a headache and the nurse wasn't real comfortable taking no actions since his eyes weren't dilating correctly.  i came, picked him up and away to the ER we went.  thank God he doesn't have a concussion (went through my first one of those with my daughter last year) and his eyes are starting to return to normal.  my little guy, he can make me swallow hard, real hard, just putting his arms around me, giving me a big kiss on the cheek and saying "i'm ok mama"....yep, almost lost it then.  we had lunch and it was the best cheeseburger he ever ate (so i believe)

today i was up with Mou on the OA blog.  she challenged us with a color challenge today and it was so inspiring and fun

i decided to create a card using the Woodland Park line, i love the colors and design of this line and was really excited to see what i could come up with using it.

i love all the chip and stick elements, the stickers, the patterns, the colors, it makes me truly happy

also, today was my last post for My Scrapbook Nook.  as you may have read, the 'Nook will be closing it's doors at the end of September.  pam and leah are ready for new adventures in their lives, adventures they have prayed over and prepared for during the last few months, and they will be retiring.  it is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to our "home away from home".  

so i decided to make my last monday CARDS challenge a sketchy one.  there are papers and elements in this kit that would work so well with the sketch and i hope it inspires all of you.

♥ new scrappy home ♥

it is with great sadness that i share with you that the 'Nook is closing.  you can read the announcement here.  this was my scrappy home, full of friendship, inspiration and laughter and i was really feeling incredibly sad about this.  i was so sad to think that we wouldn't have "our place" to have coffee each morning and share our stories, projects, reviews, CHA faves, you name it.  it was our place for scrappy friendship and i couldn't imagine a morning without it.

then, i was blessed to open my email and find a new scrappy home and i am absolutely THRILLED!  thank you sweet jessica for this amazing opportunity to be part of your team and community, i am so happy!!

♥ card kit swap cards ♥

good afternoon.  over at My Scrapbook Nook  the dt and members host a "card kit swap".  members/dt sign up in a thread to participate, a list of partners is established, we exchange addresses and ship a card kit created from your supplies for your swap partner (the card kit must include enough supplies to create at least one card minus cardstock.  you can add more supplies if you like, but it is not meant to be an expensive swap).  your swap partner then takes a pic of the kit and creates at least one card and posts the card/kit picture in the "card kit swap" thread.  it's really, really fun and i wish we could do these every month.

it's fun to peruse the thread, there's tons of inspiration and lots of fun kits.

i received and sent two card kits this time around (odd-number of friends participating and since i coordinate these, i was happy to be able to create more than one kit and create with the gorgeous kits i received from marinette and pam

i am really excited to share a couple of those cards here because the kits were a LOT of fun

(i'll be back tomorrow to share a couple of cards created from pam's kit)

 these amazing Papertrey Ink  stamps came in her kit, aren't they awesome?

every cloud has a silver lining card

(there are TWO of the stamps on this card, the sentiment and the "label" clear stamp.  i used the label stamp to create the background because it kinda felt like airy clouds when paired with the chipboard clouds)

good afternoon. i received the gorgeous May 'Nook Kit filled with gorgeous Echo Park Graceful and can not tell you how i LOVE this line. 

and i wanted to share a couple of the cards created for the weekly card challenges in the CARDS FORUM 

this card was created for the Quilting Bee Cards Challenge

i was inspired by the quilt below

 i loved the stitched sentiment, the quilted blocks and that cuuuute heart.

i created this card for the Monday challenge--Etsy Inspiration using the APRIL 'NOOK KIT

 (i was inspired by the coffee Etsy inspiration)

and i've been creating mother's day cards with this kit too.  

i created this card with papers and embellies from the main MAY kit and this month's add-on GRAB BAG

 and a FUN announcement for a PARTY this weekend, celebrating National Scrapbook Day

scrapping all weekend long!

Because we love to party we thought we have kicked off our premier show a little early and thrown out a challenge both yesterday and today - and there is a new one coming tomorrow.....than the rest of the stars will come out and dazzle you for over 24 hours straight starting bright and early Saturday morning PST ;)
