♥for the love, love, love of jillibean soup♥

i know i have shared with you how much i love jillibean soup but have we really "shared" our jillibean soup together?  well, i can't wait to get started.  i would LOVE to see your projects with the soup too, so link me up in the comments section each jillibean soup post k?

today i am sharing with you a handmade card and a "harvest basket" i created, and a tutorial to create the tree on my card.  yay, a quick, easy tutorial to create fun tree in very little time.

let's get started with the card that was posted on the jillibean soup blog yesterday in this post.

hello card

 hello card (details)

and a quick tutorial

stitch leaves (if desired) and adhere to card around the "hello" trunk, embellish with twine, heart and pumpkin sticker

now for the project that is up on the soup blog.  i had purchased a basket last year on clearance, after "fall" and couldn't wait to embellish it this year with the Pumpkin Chowder Soup line.  i created my cluster with ONE punch, my Martha Stewart Maple Leaf punch and layered the leaves to create the clusters and "leaves"

here is the original basket

i love this basket, it has a very autumn/fall feel

and a little cluster of jillibean goodness was just the embellishment to make it feel complete

as you can see, i layered the leaves starting with a base of leaves and working my way upward until desired cluster had been achieved.  i then punch four more  for the "leaves" in my cluster, layered with epoxy buttons and stickers.

and make sure to check out the soup blog this week with all new projects from the 2012-2013 design team.

and please make sure to "link me up" if you are creating with your newest jillibean soup goodies.

hugs & so much love!

♥ party goodie bags, tags & a card ♥

Good morning everyone!  it's my day on the MME blog and i was excited to share one of my favorite things to create when we get ready to celebrate a party at the house....goodie bags and goodie straws.  I don't like to purchase the themey ones because the kids seem to just crumple them up quickly or leave them behind, but every time I create their own personal little goodie bags filled with a fun treat they get really excited.

For today's post, I created tags for goodie straws and some goodie bags to place some fun little "finds" in.  I try to buy my "goodie bags" on clearance when I see sales at Target and Dept. Stores, because they are so fun to "pretty up" with MME papers and embellies later.

First, I cut the ribbons from the bags.  They had cute pink ribbons that would be fine for my daughter's parties with friends, but I decided twine and MME supplies would make them a whole lot cuter for their get together, more girly, feminine and just plain fun.

Then, I created tags for each one of the hard plastic straws.  I like to create little tags because they look so cute on the straws and you could easily dress up a place setting with just a tag.

As you can see, in no time at all (using MME supplies I had on hand) I had a set of straws and goodie bags ready for my daughter's next little get together. It's always better to drink Strawberry Fizzies out of a fancy straw! ;)

Supplies:The Sweetest Thing: 6 x 6 pad, Happy title, Wood and Chip buttons, Decorative Brads, Together Decorative Tape, Together stickers, Misc: Cuttlebug butterfly die, heart doily, Cameo cut-file sentiments

also, i posted my first card class using the August The Story Begins Kit at Scraptastic Kit Club

here's the card we created using the gorgeous kit

hello card

♥ oa color challenge ♥

i'm sorry for the late post today, i received the dreaded school phone calls saying that my youngest "my crash" had tripped going down the stairs on the jungle gym playground and hit his head on the metal arm rail.  his eyes weren't dilating properly, he had a headache and the nurse wasn't real comfortable taking no actions since his eyes weren't dilating correctly.  i came, picked him up and away to the ER we went.  thank God he doesn't have a concussion (went through my first one of those with my daughter last year) and his eyes are starting to return to normal.  my little guy, he can make me swallow hard, real hard, just putting his arms around me, giving me a big kiss on the cheek and saying "i'm ok mama"....yep, almost lost it then.  we had lunch and it was the best cheeseburger he ever ate (so i believe)

today i was up with Mou on the OA blog.  she challenged us with a color challenge today and it was so inspiring and fun

isn't that amazing?  love it, every last sprinkle of it.

i decided to create a card using the Woodland Park line, i love the colors and design of this line and was really excited to see what i could come up with using it.

i love all the chip and stick elements, the stickers, the patterns, the colors, it makes me truly happy

i hope you'll stop by the blog and see the adorable card that she created for this challenge

also, today was my last post for My Scrapbook Nook.  as you may have read, the 'Nook will be closing it's doors at the end of September.  pam and leah are ready for new adventures in their lives, adventures they have prayed over and prepared for during the last few months, and they will be retiring.  it is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to our "home away from home".

so i decided to make my last monday CARDS challenge a sketchy one.  there are papers and elements in this kit that would work so well with the sketch and i hope it inspires all of you.

and here is my card using the August kit

i hope you'll stop by the 'Nook forum and see the other gorgeous cards the dt created
