♥ for the love of twine ♥

good morning.  today is my day up on the MME blog
and we are focusing on "twine".  i love twine for my cards, a LOT, but there are so many uses for twine besides just the traditional bow to accent the cards.  today i would like to share some of the other ideas that came to-mind with this challenge.

Supplies: Indie Chic-Ginger:6x6 pad,layered stickers,twine,designer tapes;Misc-Cuttlebug butterfly die,hole puncher

I really wanted to play with the twine as an accent embellishment on this card.  I began the card with a triangle patterned paper design, using the Indie Chic Ginger line, stitched the triangles and then punched three butterflies.  I punched holes in one of the butterflies using my hole punch and then adhered twine to the backside to “peek through” the holes.

I stitched the top butterfly to the other two and adhered the butterfly to the triangles.

I began this card by stitching the gorgeous MME doily stamps onto kraft cardstock.  I then used a hole piercer and pierced holes around the circles.  I threaded my twine through one of my larger needles and stitched the circles, tying off the backs and taping down.

I adhered two strips of the designer tape to the bottom.  I punched the “hello sentiment” and adhered using 3-D mounting tape.  I like that these could be mass-produced and mailed.

I was really excited when I came across this pp in my 6 x6 Ginger pad.  I loved the large floral pattern and I really wanted to stitch the large flower and created centers for the two smaller ones.  I paper-pierced the large flower, stitched the flower with my twine and adhered a button to the center.

To create the floral centers, I used a q-tip and applied tacky glue to the centers and rolled the twine.

can't wait to see what you will do with this challenge, unique ideas abound i'm sure and it's always fun to think outside the box a little.

i hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with summertime sunshine and laughter♥

♥ MME designer tape love ♥

good morning.  how are you?  do you have crafty plans this weekend?  i am going to try to finish up some projects but i am also going to take some mommy time for my babes.  before i go out to play with them in the sunshine, i wanted to share my project this week over at the MME blog.

our friday post features projects selected by Jana, Anam and myself from our Pinterest MME Inspiring Pages & Cards page.

i chose this card from the incredibly talented Tracie Claiborne

i absolutely LOVE her gorgeous palette and design.  i love that you could use this design over and over with the gorgeous patterns in all of the MME lines, with MME scraps or the brand new MME Indie Chic Designer tape.

i chose to create my version using the new tapes i received.  these are so beautiful, have beautiful patterns and adhere beautifully to a piece of cardstock.

here is the designer tape i decided to use for this card

your smile makes life sweet card

i began my card by cutting a piece of white cardstock 3 x 5".  i then began applying the strips of tape on a diagonal.  when i was finished applying the strips, i turned the card over and cut off the excess tape.  i ran my card front through my sewing machine with different stitches on the tapes.

embellishing the card was easy since the new Ginger layered stickers make it easy to dress up any card.

i then tied twine through the Ginger buttons (direction) and adhered them to the card front

i then adhered the card front to a card base.  this design could be used over and over with designer/washi tapes or scraps of papers you can not bring your heart to throw out.

thank you Tracie for the gorgeous inspiration.  please make sure to check out her blog, but only when you have time to look around, it's incredible.
