good morning. how are you? did you have a good 4th? we had the best time and the boys were tuckered out by the end of all the activities as evidenced in this photo
sleeping on daddy......
i hope yours was fun and not too hot, although it was pretty dern hot outside.
today is Pinspiration Friday on the MME blog. i love Pinspiration Fridays, and try to always sign-up because there is so much eye-candy on our MME Pinterest Inspiration page. for this month's challenge, i selected this card from the incredibly talented Laurel Seabrook.
oh how i love this card♥
there is just so much to be inspired by. the hexagon paper, the stitching, the doily, the flowers, the twine, the large sentiment, the scallops, it's all just so gorgeous and flows seamlessly.
when creating cards "inspired" by other cards, i try to choose "3 elements" to be inspired by and no more, that was really hard to select just three on her card. but alas, i chose the hexagons, the doily and the large focal sentiment.
thank you card
(click pics to enlarge)
i chose to accent my hexagons with more of a gradient color scheme with the gorgeous Indie Chic Ginger line of papers. i can NOT tell you how i love these papers, they make me so happy.
i decided to cut my doily in half and accentuate the large sentiment that way (since i wasn't adding the spiral flowers to draw attention to the big sentiment)
supplies: Indie Chic Ginger 6 x 6 pad, Indie Chic Nutmeg button
misc: papertrey ink dies and stamp, technique tuesday sentiment stamp, twine from stash, Cameo cut file

ReplyDeleteYour card is very, very cool - I love the way the hexagons are cut out (see through). I loved Laurel's card, too - enough to print it out and hang it in my studio! You have great taste, and your revision is equally stunning!

ReplyDeleteDanni, I missed seeing your beautiful daughter with her Dad. Your picture, as well as the card is precious. I loved the bee-hive paper you chose to frame the beautiful print behind. It is like when I put sashing around the squares of my quilts:) Love ya, Sandra
