♥ Christmas in may? ♥

good morning.  how was your weekend?  we had a great weekend with ALL the kids home (my eldest from college too, wahoo!) and i am home today with my youngest with a sore throat and fever...ugh.  my poor little man, his throat is so sore and it happens most times we travel up over the mountains (elevation change i suppose)  so i baked him some banana bread and soup's on the stove, i am prepared if he gets a little appetite.  while he rests, i thought i would pop in here and share some cards and challenges that i have been working on this week.

today, i have posted the newest CARD challenge on the Scraptastic Scrapbooking Kits forum today
the challenge?  it's a bit sketchy, you may want to check it out
(you can win a $5.00 Scrapastic Store Credit)

here's the card i created for the sketch using my MAY Destination Unknown Scrapbooking Kit

i hope you'll pop in over at the Scraptastic Forum to see the newest challenge and the inspiration and YES, post your cards♥

i am up today on the Jillibean Soup blog with a card using the new Fresh Vegetable Soup line

hello friend card

i absolutely love the fonts and corrugated shapes and stickers in this new line♥

today i am also going to share some Christmas cards.  yes!  i am actually starting on them early this year.  every year we make a personal Christmas card for each one of hubby's staff members (60) as well as our friends and family, so this year, i am GOING to start early.  and to show you how determined i am, i created SIX Christmas cards this morning while my little one rested.  i.am.determined. (wish me luck....giggle)  i will share at least one of them each time i post, so hopefully you, too, will be inspired to create early this year.

♥ playing with stamps ♥

from the May Kits at Scraptastic Scrapbooking kits this month.
i absolutely love the fonts and they stamp beautifully!  just take a look at both of this month's sets

After the Storm stamp set

please don't ask me to pick a favorite either, because i seriously can't.  they are fantastic!

on my first card, take note, i decided  to create a "speech bubble" mask.  using the negative of the mask, i stamped my sentiment repeatedly.

i LOVE this font, LOVE it!

on my second card, this is so awesome, i decided to stamp a couple of the cameras in the set.  i picture sending this card with one of my bi-monthly updates to relatives, i always have fun stories since i have 4 children...smile
the camera is so cute and stamped beautifully!

on my third card, american noted, i used my negative speech bubble mask again to stamp the stars to create this american/patriotic card.  i added a few enamel dots from MME Kate & Co. Oxford Lane line and I have a card to send out this Memorial Day.

i am in love with these stars

on my last card, hello sunshine, i decided i wanted to create a flat/mailable card so i stamped the "hello sunshine" sentiment with different colors and then hand-stitched for some added personality

i will use this stamp a lot!

thank you so much for visiting me and your sweet notes, they make my day every day!
hugs & love!

♥wow, has it been t.h.a.t long?♥

i can not believe it's been more than a month since i have posted on here.  the last couple of months are always incredibly, incredibly busy for us, but WOW a month?  i am finished with teacher appreciation gifts for hubby's amazing staff and so now i feel like i can catch up with my blog, on a regular basis.  i have missed sharing here, but with end of school year, 4 kids, traveling basketball, secretary's day, and teacher appreciation week, it just got away from me.

do you feel it too?  the build up to summer i suppose....smile

where to start when there's so much?  how about a tutorial to start with using the
April Scraptastic Scrapbooking Kits Awake My Soul?  Now, if you don't have this kit, or if you have used a lot you may be asking why a tutorial now?  well because you may have these papers OR may have fun sequins and tags, so why not?  giggle.  AND, it gives me a starting point for blogging again, a tutorial, yeah, that's it....giggle

here's the card i created with the tutorial

and here's a step by step picture tutorial to create this card or a similar one

i can't wait to catch up in the blogging world.
hugs!

♥be you Jillibean style♥

Good morning!  I wanted to share a couple of cards that are being shared on the Jillibean Soup blog this week.

On my first card, I wanted a flat/mailable card using one of the Chilled Cucumber Soup Bite Size Bit Journal cards.  I love these, they are so pretty all by themselves but wanted to use one on a card.  I have made it a New Year's Resolution, of sorts, to create flat/mailable cards as well as layered/embellished cards in my DT work this year.  There are a lot of friends who have commented that with the rising postal rates, they still want it to be affordable to send cards.

Be You Card

i hope you'll pop in and see all the cards this week on The Blog amazing designs, you're sure to be inspired!

Danni Reid for MME

 Danni says:
April Fools Day is actually my maternal grandmother's birthday, so it's fun for us to create cards to make her smile and laugh out loud. Today I thought I would share this year's card with you.
I adhered my faux $20 bill to the inside flap, when the recipient (my grandmother) opens it up, trying to remove the $20 bill, they will see the 20 bucks (of the deer persuasion) instead......April Fools (smile)!!!
