 hello!  how are you?  i'm really excited to share with you that the 'NOOK Summer Crop has started!  it's a summer, crop-at-your-own pace, crop with a list of ALL the challenges for summer and a deadline of  Sunday, August 12 at 11:59 p.m. PST

 yep, ALL summer.  and  the good news?  ALL the challenges will be posted within the day and there's a printable checklist, designed by our very own Pam Brown, here:

♥ celebrating dads ♥

Good morning everyone, danni here with some card ideas for Father's Day this upcoming Sunday.  I pulled out my MME designer tapes again for these cards, I can not tell you how I love them.  Jana shared several incredible ideas in this post, for even more ideas with your tapes.

I used the wooden piece from the MME Indie Chic Citron line to create this medallion for Dad

 supplies: Indie Chic Citron Peacock 12 x 12 paper, 6 x 6 pad, wooden piece, misc: Cameo ribbon pinwheel, Simple Stories alphas

(i used one of the maya road envelopes to create this one, open it up for a gift card inside)

 I also love to add varying lengths of tapes and stitch them for added interest

 

supplies: Indie Chic Citron 6 x 6 paper pad, designer tapes, brads, layered sticker, misc: papertrey ink alpha dies, Martha Stewart heart punch, twine from stash, machine stitching

 I punched stars from the kraft cardstock and then applied the tape over the stars before adhering the stars to the card front and stitching them.  I also adhered border strips to the card front and folded over the excess.

♥ card kit swap cards day 2 ♥

good afternoon.  over at My Scrapbook Nook  the dt and members host a "card kit swap".  members/dt sign up in a thread to participate, a list of partners is established, we exchange addresses and ship a card kit created from your supplies for your swap partner (the card kit must include enough supplies to create at least one card minus cardstock.  you can add more supplies if you like, but it is not meant to be an expensive swap).  your swap partner then takes a pic of the kit and creates at least one card and posts the card/kit picture in the "card kit swap" thread.  it's really, really fun and i wish we could do these every month.

i received and sent two card kits this time around (odd-number of friends participating and since i coordinate these, i was happy to be able to create more than one kit and create with the gorgeous kits i received from marinette and pam

 these amazing Papertrey Ink  stamps came in her kit, aren't they awesome?

every cloud has a silver lining card

(there are TWO of the stamps on this card, the sentiment and the "label" clear stamp.  i used the label stamp to create the background because it kinda felt like airy clouds when paired with the chipboard clouds)

♥ simple stories summer fresh ♥

yep, it's true!  a crop that lasts ALL summer long.  a crop where you can go at your own pace and yet still get a lot accomplished.  a forum to share all your creations in and YES prizes.  hope you'll join us, it's coming very, very soon!

it has been crazy busy around here, and i am sorry for my lack of posting.  my son's high school graduation was amazing, i am so thankful and proud.  he finished and now gets to start on a new journey and that, too, will be exciting.

during this busy time, i received my JUNE KIT from My Scrapbook Nook Kits and was so excited to see it packed full of Simple Stories Fresh Summer.....i LOVE this line, it makes me so happy.  today, i wanted to share a couple of cards i've been creating with it.

i love the sweet stickers that came in the kit.  they are so fun to leave as-is and layer.

these jillibean soup chipboard shapes are so fun to layer and stitch for extra dimension

  is that tree not the cuuuuutest?  i just love it, it makes me really happy and reminds me of one that you would find for a picnic, pack your house up and head for a fun afternoon.
